Reeve Jenkins is an amateur musician playing in a dive bar. Grant McGuire is a man drowning his sorrows in beer after a painful breakup. When Reeve charms a reluctant Grant into coming home with him, they begin a three-year friendship with some very nice benefits.
But when the two gorgeous men walk into Hawk Point Tavern—the bar Rachael Bradford owns—one evening and greet each other with a kiss, it sets off a chain of events that leads to a steamy night and maybe something more for the trio.

The story started out well with the two guys meeting and having sex, and I'm thinking that this is the start of their relationship. But nope- they're just good friends and each other's booty call, sometimes inviting a third but nothing serious. This is supposedly going on for years, and then they meet Rachel and she ends up needing it to be more so she's about to change their whole dynamic. They're just three relatively good looking friends deciding to be each others exclusive booty calls but only as a triad. The end. Huh? Too laid back and careless for me. Sorry.Product details

Three Shots edition by Brigham Vaughn Sally Hopkinson Romance eBooks Reviews
This is an equally hot and sweet story. It's not a very long read so it's good if you're looking for something fairly quick but well worth it! This is a menage (MMF) and even though it's an erotic story this depth to it. The characters aren't all sexing up every second.
Reeve, Grant, and Rachel have a very rare meeting. There's an ease to their coming together. Not a lot of beating around the bush. They are a seamless trio, they just fit. They don't question it or focus on drama inducing situations. They are three consenting adults.
Menage is one of my most favorite tropes. It's also the one trope I am very picky on. Now, in Three Shots the only thing missing for me here was the in depth psychology of this. But, I easily was able to accept that because it was a novella and this isn't a story that focuses on backstory much. Kind of a chance and it's success.
This is super steamy. The sex is quite engaging and the characters are all likeable. Rachel is a strong woman which I love! This is 100% angst free. Seriously, it's a fun, relaxing, hot story that is just so welcoming. I smiled pretty much through the entire book.
I’m not sure how a story as hot as Three Shots can be both deliciously enticing and incredibly adorable at the same time, but this story has both those qualities in spades.
This is an erotic tale. While there is definitely more to the story than ‘just’ sex, there is plenty of it and both the relationships and the story develop mainly through these incredibly hot encounters between characters.
And when I say ‘hot’, I mean HOT.
Some might say that this story is unrealistic, that these three lovers open up to each other with far too much ease for people who’ve only just met, and while that may well be the case, I have to admit that to me it was a pure delight. In too many books (for my liking) at the core of any issue is the fact that the MCs refuse to talk to each other. Situations that could easily have been avoided if one or the other had just given voice to what was on their mind, grow huge and create drama. While that is sometimes realistic and occasionally even works, it is something I’m not fond of. It was therefore delightful to read a book in which the characters do open up to each other, explain what they think and feel, and subsequently deal with whatever the issue is.
There were a few things in this book I hugely appreciated. It is a wonderful surprise to read a book featuring bisexual characters without their orientation being ‘the’ or ‘a’ major plotline. Just as it is a rare but fabulous experience to read an MMF story in which the female is at least as strong as the male character(s). In fact, you could well say that if anybody has the upper hand in this story it’s Rachael.
The easy, uncomplicated, and near perfect coming together of first Reeve and Grant and then the two men and Rachael gave Three Shots a fairytale like quality. It’s a dream; how we would script our own perfect love story in an ideal world. This is a drama-free tale. While the characters have their, not always happy, back-stories, there is virtually no angst in this book. And sometimes that’s exactly what I need from my reading. It’s a perfect escape. If the story is also well written, happens to feature charming and fascinating characters, and gives me some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read recently, it is safe to say I’ve found my personal Nirvana.
If you hadn’t guessed as much from what I’ve written above, let me make myself perfectly clear here Three Shots comes highly recommended if you enjoy a well written, captivating, and extremely sexy story.
This is my first m/m/f book and I have to say it was beautifully written. We get to see the two men, Grant and Reeve meet and have a some what relationship. And then we meet Rachel who was just in the right place at the right time. I'm sure some people will be put off by the sexual genre of this book, but in all honesty its done in a very tasteful way. If I could give a higher rating I would. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
This was my first book by Brigham Vaughn, and I loved it. Her flow was wonderful and I felt like I wanted to know these characters. I just wish there were more. I'm hoping for more. I'm stalking you, Vaughn. This is exactly what menage should be, give and take, questions, but mostly that pull that makes you want more than one.
This is a delightful story about how three people find, through their sexuality, the potential for a meaningful and fulfilling relationship with one another. Told through the perspectives of all three characters, it is the final character, the female of the trio, who gives voice most clearly to the questions about whether it is possible for polyamorous relationships to work. In giving her the voice of skepticism and doubt, Vaughn invites her readers into an expanded reflection on how people, especially those who identify as bi-sexual, can find meaningful fulfillment in complex relationships. Although the novella format does not allow for a great deal of time for character development, Vaughn successfully conveys enough about each character to find them believable, especially since she allows them to voice their doubts, concerns and reservations. Although the sex scenes are fast and dominate the narrative, there is an authenticity by the end that makes the reader believe that this, in fact, has the potential to be a genuinely successful relationship. I don’t know if there are any plans to further follow the characters as they explore their newly formed bond to one another, but as characters they would certainly bear the weight of continuing their story if Vaughn chose to do so. I have read nearly all of Vaughn’s novels and found all them delightful. This push into a new type of relationship exploration is welcome. I can highly recommend this novella as a very enjoyable read.
The story started out well with the two guys meeting and having sex, and I'm thinking that this is the start of their relationship.
